Power Poses: Borrowing Strength from the Body
This week’s blog grew out of a practice I used to quietly resist: power poses.
They sounded corny at first. Performative. A little “superhero stance” energy that didn’t quite fit how I move through the world. And yet—when I finally tried one, something shifted. Not dramatically. Not magically. But subtly and undeniably.
In this week’s post, Power Poses: Borrowing Strength from the Body, I explore:
- What power poses actually are (and what they’re not)
- Why taking up space can feel so uncomfortable—especially for those shaped by stress or trauma
- What’s happening in the body and nervous system when posture shifts
- Gentle, consent-based ways to integrate power poses into daily life
This isn’t about forcing confidence or overriding fear. It’s about letting the body lead us back toward presence, steadiness, and self-trust—one small posture shift at a time.

Thanks for being here—and for continuing to experiment with what it means to live from the body outward.
With care,
Lisa
